AIn the heart of Lauragais, in region of trap, name which means literally " reliefs ", coming from the Occitan Pech and by deformation Traps, is Rooms on Hers.
Since the Gallo-Roman period, the territory of Trap is distributed in private properties. Generally, farms and public lands called Domain of the treasury.
The place-name "Salles" would result from the Germanic term "Sala" appointing a castle, a seigneurial residence. The first known Lord nominally indicated was Jean de Salles in 1145. Thus from the 12th century, the place of Salles is attested. The castle of Salles was in this period only a square tower

The big and the footnotes of history
A little of history will lead us to the 13th century when the seigneury and the lands of Salles belonging to the Lord Arnaud Raimond de Salles, the owner of the castle and the surrounding lands, covered mainly with forests, were seized by Alphonse of Poitiers, count of Toulouse. Indeed, the Lord of places, Arnaud Raimond de Salles, condemned for heresy, have been dispossessed of his possessions in 1257. It was the period of the inquisition in the realm of France, crusade and repression against the Catharism by king Louis 9th (Saint Louis) and pope Grégoire IX.
In 1268, his son Raimond Galabert sent a request to Alphonse of Poitiers to get back the lands which would have been given to him as dowry by his father Arnaud de Salles. This request was rejected. In 1270, Alphonse of Poitiers created the village of Salles and thus ordered the foundation of the bastide of Salles on Hers. Having an essentially economic role the bastide which benefited from a privileged status had to attract the surrounding rural population. New village streets were in right angle, real farm, this foundation had only a secondary defensive function.
From 14th to 16th century, the barony of Salles spent by succession and marriage, from the house of Villars, to the house of Spain Barcelona, to the family of Montesquiou.
Origin of the name
We shall not be far from thinking that the firm sheepfold " Beautiful Sun " listed on a map of the 17th century was the property of the family Roquefort as many of the other farms on the region of Trap. The firm " Beautiful Sun " will become by succession, donation or purchase:
"Arguze" name of the new owner of the sheepfold, the common practice in the period.By deformation of the language, the domain Arguze, such as it is marked in the land registry, became Argouse. But let us return under Louis 14th in the 17th century, Argouse was a sheepfold where lauragaises ewes, sort almost disappeared this day, the last herd being listed in 1985 to Lafarge near Vixiège in the North of Mirepoix. Its very white wool was washed then spun in every farm, it was the speciality of the old persons. Argouse extended up to the brook " the Sharecropper's wives " who casts himself into " Gardioles " which joins " Hers Mort " fed also by the resultant of rainwaters itself coming from hills of Razès near Castelnaudary and not by a source as Hers Vif ", river which passes to 12 km of Argouse to Mazère..
Country of three gold

Farm Beautiful Sun
Let us return on the domain Argouse which remained a lauragaise farm to after war because in the 1946s four persons lived products of the breeding and the agriculture there. Doubtless the Rouge-Maleville family, maybe the relatives of the priest of Salles on Hers, Julien de Maleville who proceeded to important works of embellishment of the church of the 16th century from 1975 till 1981. These will see to it to give a sure value to the domain.
